In a vain attempt to smack down Trump’s popularity prior to the election, Barack Obama mocked the president-elect’s promotion of the “God Bless the USA” Bible.
Trump makes “constant attempts to sell you stuff. Who does that?” Obama said at the University of Pittsburgh in October. “Selling you gold sneakers and a $100,000 watch and most recently, a Trump Bible — he wants you to buy the Word of God, Donald Trump Edition — got his name right there next to Matthew and Luke.”
It is not known how much money, if any, Trump receives for his Bible endorsement. Obama criticized Trump for profiteering. The Democrats said he needed the money to pay for his legal bills. At the time, he was fighting court cases.
“There is absolutely no evidence that this man thinks about anybody but himself,” Obama said. “I’ve said it before: Donald Trump is a 78-year-old millionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago.”
Voters paid no attention to Obama and voted for Trump by a healthy margin.
The God Bless the USA Bible is touted as having large print but a slim design, easy to tote. In the King James Version, the Bible includes the lyrics of Lee Greenwood’s song “God Bless the USA.” A Constitution and Bill of Rights is also printed inside, along with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Declaration of Independence. It sells for $59.99.
Despite the promotional push, it’s reported that no proceeds from the sales were directed toward Trump’s presidential campaign, but critics have questioned whether the project is a commercial or political move.

Critics also point out that the Bible is printed in China, a trade adversary for Trump’s America First plan.
Kamala Harris did not appear to endorse or promote any Bible, but when a heckler at a rally yelled “Jesus is Lord!” she retorted: “Oh you’re at the wrong rally.” The response drew laughter and applause from the crowd of progressives but drew a backlash from Christians, who often feel like the Democratic Party has abandoned them.
