If Hamas espouses the most stringent interpretation of Islam and Islam advocates killing gays, how do you get an organization like Queers for Palestine? Chickens for KFC! is a mockery circulating on the web about the baffling irony.
“The uprising of October 7 was an act of armed resistance,” said UC Berkeley Professor Judith Butler, whose academic work re-fashioned the word “gender” to allow for sexual confusion. “It is not a terrorist attack and it’s not an antisemitic attack.”
How can Butler and her fellow progressives have such blurry vision between the intolerance of Islam and tolerance of Christianity? (Christianity allows dissent and criticism, for example, while Islam kills dissenters for blasphemy)
The answer lies in their worldview. Progressives see the world as a dizzying array of oppression: People of color are oppressed by whites, women are oppressed by the patriarchy, queers are oppressed by sex norms. A person may be oppressed from bunch of different sources, an “intersectionality” of oppression.
“Oppression has become the most desirable social bauble on the left,” writes Jake Wallis Simons in The Spectator. “The more progressive you are, the more likely you are to support Hamas. (There is a) drive to reimagine Hamas as Robin Hood and his Merry Men.”
Progressives take up the cause of the Palestinians because, according to their narrative, Israel practices genocide and apartheid. The anti-Israel bias overrides the history of Islam executing LGBTQ people.
“The Islamic world’s hatred for gays is widely known; kids are taught animated stories of Sodom and Gomorrah on YouTube” says Nikhil Rampal in the India-based The Print. “Homophobia is drilled into them, and hence being a queer person in countries with strict Islamic rule is any day hard. Palestine is no different.
“Homosexuality has been legally forbidden in the Palestinian Authority since 1936, imposed by the British,” Rampal adds. “Life continues to be harsh for queers living there; they can face beheading, brutal murder, the need to hide, fear kidnapping, or struggle to seek asylum in Israel.”
As documented by Reason, Hamas militants executed one of their own commanders, Mahmoud Ishtiwi, in 2006 for allegedly having sex with another man. Ishtiwi had overseen 1,000 soldiers and an assortment of attack tunnels previously, but his service in the cause of fighting against Israel did nothing to liberate him.
Just take a look at two of the articles of the Hamas Covenant:
Article 1 The Movement’s program is Islam. From it, it draws its ideas, ways of thinking and understanding of the universe, life and man.
Article 16 It is necessary to follow Islamic orientation in educating the Islamic generations in our region by teaching the religious duties, comprehensive study of the Koran, the study of the Prophet’s Sunna (his sayings and doings), and learning about Islamic history and heritage from their authentic sources.
The rest of the articles refer mostly to Hamas’ anti-Israel war, but these two, in no uncertain terms, pledge a 100% commitment to the totality of the Koran and the hadiths.
Predominantly Muslim nations have laws on the books penalizing homosexual acts with whippings, imprisonment and execution. Those countries include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Brunei, Nigeria, and Mauritania.
“Egypt has conducted mass arrests of gay men, and homosexuals can face torture even in Lebanon, the Arab world’s most liberal country,” states the Wall Street Journal.
Execution is ordered for homosexuals in the hadiths: Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet said: ‘If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done’.”
Also from Abdullah ibn Abbas: If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy he will be stoned to death.
Meanwhile, Israel is a stark contrast of tolerance. “LGBT rights in Israel are considered the most developed in the Middle East,” states Wikipedia.
You would think that LGBTQ progressives would favor Israel.
But no, the Progressive propaganda machine has gone into overdrive. Israel is only “pinkwashing,” a term they coined, meaning Israel hides its anti-LGBTQ bias under a veneer of appearing to do good to LGBTQ people. (Pink is symbolic of LGBTQ).
Progressives assure us that despite current practices in Palestine, there are groups – like Aswat and alQaws – that are working for equality and justice. The message is reassuring: Don’t worry about Palestine’s persecution of LGBTQ; they’re going to change in the near future.
In other words, pay no attention to facts and believe the propaganda.
If anything, progressives are dutifully obedient to what they are told. On college campuses across America, hyper liberal kids are donning hijabs and bowing in prayer to Allah.
Meanwhile, people who have experienced the harshest treatments of Islam are issuing a warning. “Islam is the most dangerous beast,” says Nuriyah Khan on YouTube. The UK-born Muslim lost her faith after being abused by her husband in Dubai. “People think they’re siding with a minority or an oppressed people. But Islam is pretty much as far right as you can get.”
