After weeks of violence and lawlessness in Portland and other cities – including the burning of the American flag and Bibles – one professor sees a common thread going back to the radicalism of the Sixties.

“What we are seeing in the educational system is systemic nihilism,” Professor Jason D. Hill told Tucker Carlson on his August 6th program. Hill is the author of We have Overcome and a professor of philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago.

Nihilism rejects all religious and moral principles, holding that life is meaningless.

“You’re looking at a bunch of nihilists and anarchists that want to destroy a system and replace it with nothing, nothing at all. They want to destroy the good for the sake of it being the good,” he told Carlson.

The destruction of the good stands in stark contrast to the message of Christianity. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. — Jesus

Professor Hill responded to a proposal by State Rep. LaShawn K. Ford (D-Chicago) to stop teaching history in Illinois public schools, alleging the current curriculum is inherently racist.

“You take away human history, you take away (teaching about) our constitutional rights our Bill of Rights, our Second Amendment, our First Amendment, the timeworn principles we use to defend our way of life, our Judeo-Christianity, you’re looking at systemic nihilism, you’re looking at the Anti-Christ as far as I’m concerned,” he told Carlson.

Professor Hill has seen this troubling trend developing for many years in the world of academia. “I have been warning that these post modern nihilists that started from back in the Sixties when we had these fake disciples attacking reason, valorizing…one’s feelings and one’s feeling of being offended as the only criteria for adjudicating disputes, and dispensing with reason, objective reality, and logic as the construct of imperialist, racist, white men.”

“That’s what we’re seeing today, and so you dispense with history all together.”

He noted that a few weeks ago, Rutgers University declared that grammar was racist. “Now grammar is a science that deals with the proper method of oral and written communication,” he explained. “When you attack grammar, you attack language, which is the method of cognitions, you attack man’s mind, you attack his ability to reason.

“So you attack man’s mind, which means you leave us on the level of grunting farm animals, so you leave us incapacitated to reason, to think, and then you take away his history.”
