Ready. Prepared.
These words are the definition of the Latin phrase Paratus.
When used by Veritas International University (VIU), Paratus echoes the Apostle Peter’s charge to “Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15, NKJV).
Beginning in August 2024, VIU will partner with KLYT FM radio to broadcast Paratus, a program dedicated “to helping Christians develop a Biblical worldview, preparing Christians to think scripturally and soundly about the world.”
Founded in 1976, KLYT 88.3 FM is a non-commercial FM radio station broadcasting Christian talk radio and Biblical teaching. As one of the longest continually running Christian stations in the US, KLYT is a beacon in the Southwestern portion of the United States.
Current KLYT General Manager, Steve Reimann, was essential in picking up Paratus. “Having heard Paratus in a podcast format, I knew a broader audience was in store. Paratus provides solid content in a contemporary format. And add to the fact that Veritas International University recently relocated to New Mexico, it was a great fit.”
Concerning VIU’s move to New Mexico, VIU President, Dr. Joseph Holden—in a video commercial—states “New Mexico was always part of VIU’s vision as a location to permanently call home. We chose to relocate to Albuquerque due to its beautiful landscape, faith-filled people, thriving churches, and strategic regional location.”
Founded in 2008 by theologian, philosopher, and apologist, Dr. Norman Geisler and Dr. Jospeh Holden, VIU upholds a classical Christian emphasis, offering “nine-degree programs, held within three schools: Veritas College & Seminary, VIU School of Archaeology, and the VIU Norman L. Geisler School of Apologetics.”
With a world class staff such as archeologist Steven Collins and theologian–apologist Dr. Holden, VIU is the only fully accredited evangelical Christian university in Albuquerque, specializing in Biblical theology, archeology, and apologetics.
Paratus will broadcast on Saturday’s at 4:00 PM MST, part of the Bible School of the Air, and Sunday’s at 12:15 MST, immediately following Calvary Church Albuquerque’s live service.
International listeners can tune in via the web at https://www.klyt.fm.
The inaugural radio series will explore the essential Christian doctrines, covering topics such as God’s unity, the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, and more.
You can listen to an interview with Dr. Holden, Professor Betzner, and Steve Reimann on ABQ Connect.
