Will they ever consider that the ‘fix’ to ‘gender dysphoria’ doesn’t work?

Suicide rates doubled after gender reassignment surgery, a new study shows

“The overall rates of suicide attempts doubled after vaginoplasty,” states a Sept. 2021 article in the Journal of Urology.

The latest hubbub of woke medicine is that people can be born into the wrong body, which causes “gender dysphoria” — a malaise where you hate your gender and your sex organs. Some of these folk get to the point of having a “psychiatric encounter” needing intervention from a professional.

What’s the answer to this problem? Perform plastic surgery, they say, and make the man have woman-like sexual organs and vice versa for the woman. Included in the process are hormonal treatments to develop breasts in men or make a beard on a lady.

Wokies say “gender affirming care” solves the problem.

But now the results of how ever many years of doing this are rolling in. And it doesn’t look good. Men who got a vaginoplasty operation doubled their suicide attempt rates.

“Rates of psychiatric emergencies are high both before and after gender affirming surgery,” the study concludes. “Although both the phalloplasty and vaginoplasty patients have similar overall rates of psychiatric encounters, suicide attempts are more common in the later.”

Is the medical establishment ‘helping’ people or just cashing in on expensive, unnecessary operations?

Conclusions from the writers of the study? Give more psychiatric help to those who undergo sex reassignment surgery.

“Patients undergoing GAS (that’s Gender Affirming Surgery) with a history of prior psychiatric emergences or feminizing transition are at higher risk and should be counseled appropriately,” it says.

“Sex reassignment doesn’t work,” says Ryan T. Anderson, Ph.D. writing in the Heritage Foundation. “It’s impossible to ‘reassign’ someone’s sex physically, and attempting to do so doesn’t produce good outcomes psychosocially. The medical evidence suggests that sex reassignment does not adequately address the psychosocial difficulties ‘faced by people who identify as transgender. Even when the procedures are successful technically and cosmetically, and even in cultures that are relatively ‘trans-friendly,’ transitioners still face poor outcomes.”

Meanwhile, a 2023 Danish study found that trans Danes were 7.7x more likely to attempt suicide compared to the country’s population. Frighteningly, trans were also 3.5x more likely to succeed at suicide compared to the population, as reported by CNN.

“Reports of suicidal ideation, suicidal behaviors, and non-suicidal self-injury (which are often associated with greater risk for suicide) are all significantly higher among trans individuals,” says Dr. Melina Wald, clinical director of the Gender Identity Program at Columbia University Medical Center.

A 2011 study in Sweden similarly found that .sex “reassigned” were more likely to have died by suicide, made a suicide attempt or been psychiatrically hospitalized, Newsweek reports.

“This highlights that post surgical transsexuals are a risk group that need long-term psychiatric and somatic follow-up. Even though surgery and hormonal therapy alleviates gender dysphoria, it is apparently not sufficient to remedy the high rates of morbidity and mortality found among transsexual persons,” the study states. “Improved care for the transsexual group after the sex reassignment should therefore be considered.”

Is anyone going to re-consider the possibility that sex reassignment is NOT an answer to people who report gender dysphoria?
