Galloping ahead with radical LGBTQ+ push, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Monday a law banning teachers from notifying parents if their children decide to switch genders.
This means public school districts can now push perversion propaganda on impressionable and vulnerable kids AND eliminate parents from permanent, life-altering decisions almost entirely.
The law “endangers children by excluding parents from important matters impacting their child’s health and welfare at school,” says Republican Assemblyman Bill Essayli, who fought to notify parents when kids decide to change gender.
“Today, Governor Gavin Newsom defied parents’ constitutional and God-given right to raise their children by signing AB 1955,” Essayli said in a statement Monday, published by the California Family Council, a conservative religious advocacy group. He said he planned to challenge the law in court, the Washington Post reported.
California is the only state to enact such a law, while Indiana, Tennessee and six other states have enacted school gender notification policies, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The new law ends a battle with certain conservative school districts, like Chino Valley and Temecula, which required parental notification. California Attorney General Rob Bonita said notification constitutes “forcible outing,” and could inflict “imminent, irreparable harm” to LGBTQ+ kids if their parents are “unwelcoming.”
Specifically, the law bans public school personnel from disclosing if kids change their name or pronouns, if teachers support kids’ gender decisions, and if kids participate in activities that are gender specific that don’t correspond to school records of gender.
The best California can do for parents? Offer resources for “managing” family discussions about issues. In other words, parents are the last to find out and when they do, they get told to hold the LGBTQ line.
Democrat Gov. Newsom has presidential aspirations but doesn’t seem concerned about pursuing policies that reflect the majority of Americans.
“Amid absolute moral pandemonium, many parents find themselves in a Wild West more fiendish than they could have ever imagined,” wrote Billy Halloway in the Washington Times. “The implication, of course, is that schools and educators know better than parents and that children should somehow be trusted to make life-altering decisions on their own. It’s the spirit of 1984.”
