For years the religious group that side-stepped anti-polygamy laws were the Mormons, but a new wave of polygamy, the practice of maintaining more than one spouse, is set to hit America and may have already started. It’s the Muslims.
A recently posted slew of videos on YouTube shows that Muslims have the intention of carrying out the Koran’s stamp of approval on polygamy, specifying that a man may have more than one wife (the Koran does NOT allow a woman to have more than one husband).
Mohammed Hijab defended not just polygyny but also getting married and keeping it secret from the first wife in a recent video that featured a panel of four Muslim male influencers and four females. The females expressed the view that their husbands shouldn’t do it in secret.
Mohammed Hijab, a UK YouTuber with 1.2M subscribers, dismissed the objections of the female panelists, saying the Prophet Mohammad expressly allowed men to marry a second, third or fourth wife in secret. Having the Koran’s validation, he wouldn’t bow before “women’s feelings,” he said.
How do they get away with it since polygamy is illegal in the United Kingdom and America? Easy. They simply don’t register their second marriage with the county clerk (it is officiated by a Muslim cleric).
Without a legal certificate of marriage, authorities are hard-pressed to produce evidence of a violation of the law. (Rare is the court conviction of a Mormon polygamist.) It is akin to the multitude of Americans who keep a “side chick” or any “open marriage.”
It’s surprising that Muslims are NOT keeping this low profile but are openly discussing it on YouTube. You can find videos of Muslim women giving their opinions; some are reluctant to support it but seem wary of criticizing their religion. Some give advice on how to handle it.
“My personal experience seeing what has happened to my cousins and how they have mentally tried coping with their father getting married with another woman, I would not recommend this for anybody,” says Lubna Farhan on her YouTube channel Candid with Lubna.
“It may be natural for men to want to have sexual relationships with more than one woman at any time,” Lubna adds. “But it’s not natural for women to not feel jealous of their man being with another woman.”
Both Mormons and Muslims point out that Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon and others practiced polygamy in the Bible. But what they fail to notice is that God, in the beginning, said that marriage was for one man and one woman. The hermeneutical rule of “first mention” applies. Subsequent aberrations, even if Bible heroes, aren’t approved of by God; at best, he overlooked them.
If that’s not enough, there’s the hermeneutical rule that Jesus always interprets the Bible correctly. Jesus said, “The two become one flesh.” He did not say “two or more…”
As the world opens to widespread immigration, the importation of Muslim customs brings realities from other cultures. Polygamy is just one issue.
Europe, which faces mostly Muslim immigrants, is the first to grapple with these issues. America, which mostly has Latino immigrants who are largely Catholic, hasn’t yet faced the convulsions of Europe.
Those upheavals are playing out dramatically in England right now. On June 1, Tommy Robison organized a thousands-strong march protesting the creeping shariah law that he says is taking over London. Robison alleges the police are not investigating and prosecuting gangs of foreigners (implied: Muslims) that find vulnerable girls on the street and rape them. He says his relative was one of their prey.
Tommy also alleges two-tier policing, where normal UK citizens are held to the law, but Muslims get a free ride much of the time. The firebrand former hooligan has become a black eye for the global elitists. He was persecuted by British authorities, he says.
On June 24, he was arrested for “immigration irregularities” in Canada after being allowed into the country by immigration. Canadian plainclothes police nabbed him after he spoke against globalism. He was released soon after. Collusion is being seen by some observers; Canada is part of the Commonwealth.
Tommy is organizing a second march at the end of July in England. He has galvanized people from all walks of life against the perceived rise of shariah law. “England’s finally waking up to Islam and its cancerous impact on this beautiful island,” tweeted Nuriyah Kahn, a British Pakistani born Sunni Muslim who escaped an abusive marriage in the United Arab Emirates.
A lot of immigrants in England, France and Germany – vocal and violent voices – have NO desire to integrate into Europe and adopt its customs and values. They openly declare they will take over and impose Shariah law on everybody.
In the UK, there’s YouTubers Ali Dawah and Mohammed Hijab, each with over a million subscribers. Mohammed Hijab was filmed leading a protest into a Jewish neighborhood unabashedly yelling that Muslims wanted Jewish blood.
The Muslim tide is so disturbing that Richard Dawkins, an acid atheist who hates all religion, took the unusual step recently of calling himself “a cultural Christian.” He likes hymns and church buildings, he says, just not God. But he’s worried about the signs that Islam is rapidly filling the void in post-Christian England. (His scientific and rational utopia did not materialize.)
Of course, there are many who pull the race card, the Islamophobia card, the dog-whistle card. But formers Muslims, who know Islam inside and out, are not among them.
Harris Sultan, a Pakistani-born Australian author and ex-Muslim atheist activist, ridiculed women who convert to Islam on his Jan. 10 video:
“I had my heart broken by that guy, by that guy, by that guy so therefore I’m going to try a more conservative kind of a religion,” he voices for the women. “How worse could my life get from here. Well if he doesn’t let me go out, if he puts me in these bean bags, at least he’s not going to be [ __ ] around.”
“Little does she know that he can actually marry three more wives and if she was living in any other era then he could have had multiple sex slaves.”
In his video, Harris runs a TikTok video from a woman who was startled by the outright lascivious attention she was getting in her direct messages (DM) after “reverting” to Islam.
“A few weeks ago I started sharing online about my revert journey to Islam and since then between my TikTok and my Instagram I have received thousands, thousands of DMs from men with perverted intentions,” the unnamed TikToker says. “They’re not all just ‘village boys.’ They’re creeps.
“In the beginning I tried to brush it off,” she adds. “I tried to pretend like I didn’t see it, which is what my friends advised me to do,” she adds. “But as time went on it is something that has made me feel physically sick it is something that has become a deal breaker for me in terms of creating content.”
To be able to legitimately have sex with multiple women is at least partly what drew incel idol Andrew Tate to Islam. He famously declared himself Muslim in 2022. He worked hard, he said, not just to have one woman but many. He now appears to have backed off from Islam.
One might think that Muslims would keep behind closed doors this unsavory aspect of polygamy in Islam. But no, they are broadcasting it, affirming it, owning it and normalizing it.
Don’t expect many arrests of polygamist Muslims in the future in the West. What seems more likely is that they won’t face the marginalization that Mormons faced when they announced that polygamy was part of their doctrine.
Today’s laissez faire attitude with morality may even see legislation that decriminalizes polygamy.
But even it woke politicians legalize polygamy as a concession to Muslims, there may be a blowback among Western reverts. Commenting on the Ali Daway video justifying marrying a second wife secretly, meowz.111 says, “Thanks for showing me how Islam really is. Started my slow apostasy after this was released.”
