Influential mission leader, Heidi Baker, issued a prayer request related to a growing threat from Islamic extremists killing Christians and burning villages north of the ministry headquarters where she and her husband, Rolland, are based in northern Mozambique.
“Please join us in praying for peace in the province of Cabo Delgado, where we live,” she stated in a Facebook post June 7th. “Recently a number of Christians have been killed here. Women have been raped and many homes have been burned.”
Thirty-seven people have been killed by a group known as al-Shabab in the past two weeks in northern Mozambique, according to Amnesty International.
“At least 10 people were hacked to death in the latest appalling attack in Cabo Delgado, where an escalation in violence has left civilians at the mercy of this brutal militant group and forced many to flee their homes,” said Deprose Muchena, Amnesty International’s Regional Director for Southern Africa.
“The gruesome ways in which these killings are carried out shows this group’s intent to sow fear among civilians. The Mozambican authorities must take immediate and effective action to end the killings.”
Heidi and Rolland Baker founded Iris Global in 1980, and currently operate feeding programs for thousands of orphans, run free health clinics, manage primary and secondary schools and have fostered several thousand church plants.
A South African newspaper reported that about 90 ISIS militants had infiltrated northern Mozambique, citing unnamed intelligence sources. Government authorities have denied these reports.
Whether the groups are locally inspired or influenced from afar makes no difference to Heidi, who sees the nature of the spiritual battle at the heart of the threat.
“Our enemies are not men and women, but the dark spirit of the enemy who desires to kill, steal, and destroy,” she posted on Facebook. “We forgive those who do not understand what they are doing, and we ask for peace to flow from heaven into the hearts of our neighbors, and to surround our people like a wall.

Praying that the light of Jesus would be so bright that it would blind the enemy and turn them away from Cabo Delgado. Father, let heaven come. Spare your children and send Your warring and protecting angelic hosts to IRIS ministries now, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Praying right this moment in the Holy Ghost.
One of Heidi’s Prayer language phrases sounds like Shik a baba. I don’t know exactly why I saw it similar to the name of the group but if the power of the Prayer language can defeat this stirring of evil… so be it. Let’s us all raise our voices in tongues to combat confusion and deception and convert to the Lord.

Father, I lift up this flock and pray in agreement with my brothers and sisters that YOU would kindle a Fire so bright around them,
BLINDING the enemy in the heavenlies and his forces on earth! May they be consumed, those who have set their heart on doing evil! Put a supernatural fear on ISIS and protect IRIS.

When the enemy comes in like a flood the LORD will lift up a standard against him. Though they may come in one direction let them flee in seven. LORD GOD we stand on Your Word believing that you will give your angels charge over your people and command your angels concerning Heidi, her husband, their workers, the children and their mission site. We pray that no harm comes to another person in the Name of Jesus! Drive the enemy back as far as the east is from the west and we also pray that the demonic spirits operating through these terrorists be called out, driven out and cast back to their master and that their hearts would be changed to hearts of flesh and not stone. We pray You get the Glory in this Father GOD!!! IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME!!! AMEN!!!
Pray to God and row for shore. Heidi’s team and those with them need to flee to somewhere else or up security. Even Jesus’ parents fled wickedness to preserve their family.
Prayers! Fear NOT! Trust in Him and submit also and He will direct your paths Proverbs 3: 6. He is able to direct to give you going power or staying power. May God show up and put your enemies on the run! And give them dreams and visions that speak to their heart of salvation May God break the chains of hate and deceit and bloodthirsty killing and violating women not just there but on the whole face of the Earth!

Lord, there is a Day in your heart where you will bring vengeance on your enemies. Until that Day (the Day of the Lord) help us offer mercy to wicked men and not love our own lives. Plant Iris and the other believers as a stake in the ground and strengthen them afresh to love you even unto death. I sincerely ask you to spare them from these wicked men, but even more I pray you’d make them a faithful witness to your enemies. Spare those ISIS men from the wrath to come. They don’t know the truth about your ways and a day they will stand before you. They don’t know about the lake of fire. They don’t know who they oppose when they kill those that love you. Turn them from their love for sin! And wether you deliver Iris from this or not, let them be willing yet again to drink your cup. Just like Jesus. Just like the cross. Until the day you make all things new at Jesus’ coming. We love these faithful lovers of Jesus. Strengthen them! Speak to them! Give them peace. Don’t let them fear any terrifying thing. Pour out the Holy Spirit on them to love their enemies! To not fear death. Help them lord Jesus to carry their cross!

Joseph and Mary saw the danger and fled to Egypt. In Acts, you see the early followers of Jesus flee persecution, but this also led to the spread of the Gospel. I agree with you that Rolland and Heidi and their staff should leave northern Mozambique, but it appears, at this point, they are determined to stay.
Why would you take 250 children from one dangerous place to another when there are safer towns closer?
